Isn’t that my work?

I never know when I am going to run across my products. The manufacturers cannot tell you the stores and websites that have bought your products to sell online or in their stores. You will just be shopping and then all of a sudden there are your pillows...or cards...or fabrics...or ornaments. I am always surprised..pleasantly surprised...really I am thrilled and if someone is with me I always make them take a pic of me next to my products. Here I am with my pillows from Natural Life. www.naturallife.net

What is in my studio?

I found this great handmade tool carrier at an estate sale.  The price was right $2.00 even if the color of it...sickly gray with spotches of hot pink was appalling. I knew I could cute it up. I added bird paper to it...naturally....and then trim....and I use it to put my notebooks and paper in on my laptop desk.

Happy Valentines Day!

I love making art with hearts and love....I have done dozens of animals in loving embraces...they always sell well on my Etsy site. So spread some love around today to all your friends and family...I prefer to think of Valentines Day as a day of love not a day of coupling. So enjoy some of my love artwork.

This piece is really named Walter and Jean after my mom and dad                                                      my dad loved cardinals and my mom loves bluebirds

I love being an Etsy artist

One of the things I love about being on Etsy is all the wonderful people I get to meet. People from all over the world buy my prints....I am always excited when someone buys my prints from Australia, Brazil, England, France and Italy...any country makes me happy. And I love connecting with other artists from different countries. I find that some artists who sell prints on Etsy are willing to do a mutual sale with you if they like your artwork. In other words, I buy a piece of their art and they buy a piece of my art at the same time so it is like you are getting their print for free.

At the beginning of December I make up my Christmas list. I always look at all my favorite artists under my favorite shops on my Etsy site and figure out whose artwork I want to put on my Christmas list this year. So starting with this post I am going to start showing you artists from Etsy whose work I love...so much so I either did a mutual buy or received their artwork as a gift.

So this Christmas I asked three prints artists to do a mutual buy with me. I love putting up new artwork in my home...I figure I can always find a place on some wall to hang one more picture. So here are the artists whose work is now hanging in my home this year.

Eloise Renouf www.etsy.com/people/EloiseRenouf

I love Eloise’s fanciful and simple tree designs and her colors are wonderful!
Here are the pieces I bought.

Flora Chang lives close to me in Kansas City and has done work for Hallmark. I love her sweet and adorable characters, animals and houses. I do not normally buy artwork that is B&W but I fell in love with this bird piece.

3 Crows /www.etsy.com/people/3crows Sara Pulver is the artist of this site. I love the whimsy of her animals and also the folk art quality of her paintings. The images make me laugh. The dog and the cat in the bed is not the exact image that I bought but the one I have is not on her site right now.

Back to Blogging (I hope)

Well the holidays are over, Anna is back at MCAD, another semester has started at Washington University, Sheila has gone to the Atlanta Gift Show...great reception of my new products...none of which I can talk about. I made a new years resolution that I would blog two times a week in the new year and as you can tell that resolution is not working out too well. It is February 1 and I have yet to post a single thing in 2012. So I decided that today I would get back on the horse so to speak and put up a new post.

My holidays were great...loved spending time with Anna...she is always a delight .....and seeing and being with my friends and family. I would not say it was an exciting holiday season but most times I am happy with that if it means the holiday season does not go in a hectic, crazy, or downward spiral. That said, two people from my studio did go on a big adventure last holiday season.

Two of my plushes, Gigi the french poodle and Max the mouse, went to Paris...can you believe that? They sent me pictures and what a time they had. They saw all the sights, ate up a storm and indulged in many ways. They have returned to my studio safe and sound but they have riled up all the other plushes. Now all of them want to go on a holiday.

So here are the pics from Gigi’s and Max’s trip.

We went first class

We visited the Louvre

I.M. Pei is such a wonderful architect!

The Mona Lisa was fabulous.

I needed some expresso to pick me up.

Notre Dame....Oh la la

time for a little rest

we had a wonderful time

Max and Gigi wanted to be sure I thanked Sheila (my rep) and Doug her sweetie of a hubby for taking them on their Parisian holiday.
