Buy it! My new Etsy series is on my site

As you all know, I have been working on a series for prints for my Etsy site. I have been showing the works in progress on Instagram. I wanted to have the prints ready to make their debut for the holidays. What did I make?  I decided to design a series of prints highlighting how wonderful it is to make and buy handmade products. For me, any time I can sit down and do some kind of creative work with my hands, my blood pressure goes down, my stress level becomes more manageable, my mood lightens and before I know it I am feeling better. I know so many artists that feel the same way.
Also I wanted to make prints for crafters to give to their DYI and crafting friends to hang in their studios and homes to remind them how important it is to make time for their crafts.

I decided to take the piece of art I made for Uppercase’s Work/Life 3 book. http://shop.uppercasemagazine.com/collections/books For this book, I was asked to do an image showing my love of haberdashery. I got a very positive response to the piece and the editor of Uppercase, Janine Vangool, said it was one of her favorite pieces. With that piece in mind, I created a series of Make It! prints. So far I have finished Felt it!, Sew It!, Knit It!, Stitch It!, Glue It! as well as the Work/Life piece turned into Make It! Coming Soon: Quilt It!, Sketch It!, and Crochet It! which should be finished and on the site within the week.

So here they are. They would look perfect in your studios as well as gifts for all your DYI and crafting friends. They are available for sale at my Etsy site. https://www.etsy.com/shop/lindasolovic

Hope you like them!

Button Cards..Selling Now in my Etsy Site

My husband Gary started posting the button cards that are for sale on my Etsy site last night and 3 of them are already sold. Thanks so much Christine Kenney! The pieces she bought are the last three before the final button card which is the one button card I kept for myself. I am including them so everyone can see them. I am hoping these will sell and if so I plan to make more to sell hopefully before the holidays.

Again my Etsy site is https://www.etsy.com/shop/lindasolovic. The cards are $15.00 each.

Hope you all like them. It is so much fun to make little pieces of art.

What was in those packages?

A while back on Facebook and instagram I posted the following picture.

All this little packages were gifts for my friend Joyce for her 60th birthday. I made her 60 tiny pieces of artwork. Each package contained 10 images. I did a series of 10 images for each of her ten years on this planet. And each of the series were a different media and theme.

I have loads of fun making these...I put no pressure on myself and I just did what I wanted to do. Joyce is a textile artist and makes art quilts so I knew the theme of making and sewing would be part of the images I made.

So here is the first set. I have loads of buttons in my studio and I remembered I had saved some vintage button cards. I did a series of flower images on the button cards using what else... embroidery and buttons. She loved them. And I had so much fun making them that I decided to make to sell in my Etsy just in time for holiday shopping. https://www.etsy.com/shop/lindasolovic  The button cards will sell for $15 and should be up for sale tomorrow in the shop. Here are the flower button cards I did for Joyce. Tomorrow I will post the Etsy button cards that are going to be for sale

Oh and by the way there are only eight cards. I changed two of them at the last minute and forgot to take a pic of them.

Would you like to see a Linda design on an iPhone case?

I was at the store the other day looking for a case for my new iPhone. Lot’s of cases out there to buy, but I just couldn’t find one that spoke to me.

When I returned home, case-less, I talked to my husband, Gary, about my dilemma. Gary said he thought my art would be perfect for iPhone cases. I must admit, I agree. Gary then spent the next hour in his studio mocking up iPhone case designs using my artwork. They are so cute! I thought I would share with you the results.
